Myopia (Short Sighted / Near Sighted)

Myopia is a condition whereby the light rays do not focus on the retina, after entering the eye. Instead, the light ray focuses short of the retina. This can be the result of the lengthening of the eyeball.

Myopic people can see more comfortably up close. They perceive a blurred image when they look at distant objects.

The exact cause of myopia is not known. However, there has been research that points to Hereditary Factors and Excessive Near Work.
